Sirens, turbine engines, the squeaking of boots against the floor. The United States has just entered DEFCON 2 for the first time since the Cuban Missile Crisis. The Airforce was just deployed. The Army has five hours and forty-five minutes to be ready to deploy and engage. I frantically ran through the basic checks of the tank as the others threw our gear in. The Loader frantically started the shell fabricator, the machine gunner turned on the bullet fabricator, the main gunner checked the cannon, and the driver quickly checked the controls. As we were driving through the woods, we took a turn and were never seen on earth again.
