The term tanka poetry refers to a Japanese five-line poem. Tanka, translated, means "short song." It is similar to haiku in that there are specific amounts of syllables for each line of the poem and it utilizes the literary techniques of personification, metaphor and simile to describe and create the ability for the reader to visualize the author's descriptions. Tanka consists of 31 syllables and distributed in 5-7-5-7-7 order (I also post photos with the poems and sometimes I share some personal thoughts too)

Ako ay nagkaroon ng inspirasyon na sumulat ng mga liriko ng Kundiman matapos kong mapuntahan ang Simbahan at Museo ng San Agustin sa Intramuros, Maynila, noong ika-19 ng Nobyembre, 2018. Bawat tulang nakapaloob dito ay may tugmaan at binubuo ng labindalawang taludtod na may tig-aanim na pantig. Nilalayon ng aklat na ito ang pagtataguyod ng tradisyunal na panulaang maaring magamit sa pagbuhay ng sinaunang awitin gaya ng Kundiman. Mabuhay ang panitikang Filipino!
