Becca is a very calculated person. She can stay calm in the most stressful of situations and can do a few things most humans can't. she's been training her entire life for her chance to change the one moment in human history that decimated the entire human race. so many before her have tried to change that one moment, and so many of them had lost thier lives. her brother was nearly one of those casualties. can she change the mind of a blood thirsty vampire who's Hell bent of ripping the throat out of the last royal human with Hunter's blood? or will she fail, as so many before her have?

So just to warn you, this is one of my first attempts at writing. It starts off a little cliché in a 'too good to be true' sort of way, but hang in there. There's a twist or 2 that might surprise you. I wrote this before The Healer series and wasn't going to publish it, but 'my support group' really thought I should. I attempted to edit this in the middle of the night, so I'm sure I missed a few things. A short story in the Deadland Saga! (This is little Benji Hennessey's story during the zombie outbreak.) As the world succumbs to vicious zombies, a boy with Down Syndrome must find his way to his grandfather, who lives forty miles away.

Prologue　 Alexis Monroe is your typical small town girl and an only child. When she's 18 years old, her parents disappear, after leaving for one of her fathers business trips. She never left the small town to go to college or see the world. She's a petite five foot eight with long wavy brunette hair, soft green eyes and a giving heart. She's always been a gifted intuitive person. She's always known when someone was in pain. Being a volunteer at the hospital, she assumed it came with the job. Until recently, she never new why that, when she'd touch a patient, she'd feel their pain almost as if it were her own. The first clue as to what she is comes after a normally fatal accident. The second comes with a terrifying experience and the discovery that the creatures of myths are not just stories. The full discovery came from a new friend.
