A brutal war. A girl raised as a proud soldier, all too willing to fight and die for her country. A man whose life has been shattered, remade into one of fear and rage and hate. A boy who is caught in the web of politics, who experiences horrible things not meant for anyone, much less a child as young as he. This is a tale of two countries at war, and the lives of the people who reside there. This is a tale of the consequences of hatred and love, of treachery and loyalty, and of evil and good. --------------------------- The story and its characters are my creation; any similarity to other works or to current events is not intended. Plagiarism is not acceptable... honestly, have a bit of self-respect. I don't particularly care if you vote for this work or not. My only desire is feedback so that I can become a better writer. Stormy nights can bring things unexpected-but never as unexpected as best friends who have broken apart since an untimely, mysterious death in the quaint, provincial town of Wolfwater in New Jersey. Victoria and Spencer were just on their way to Spencer's Nonna when they meet ex-best-friend Alice dumped and crying in the middle of the road; Wesley's car breaks down in the middle of nowhere, requiring the assistance of the mechanic Nicholas. All their problems and disputes are thrown aside as easily as snapping a finger when their lives are turned and shaken by a car accident--and an old, Victorian estate, home to the late Moonsons. An estate hunted by brave mobs and feared by common melees. As they juggle their personal problems, more alarming ones surface. Spencer goes missing, Alice learns that her mother may have kept more secrets than she knew, and it is up to the other three to figure out why more people end up dead in the mansion, in addition to the many that is already dead. Little do they know, they have chosen the wrong option when they braced themselves to venture beyond the polished walls of the Moonson estate. [NOTICE] This book is in an indefinite hiatus, for the author is also working on a separate draft which will eventually be the final draft. For now, please enjoy the chapters already published. Reminder: there may be a lot of typos and paragraphing problems since the formatting of Wattpad differs from the app the author uses to write. If you spot any, please kindly point it out for the author to revise. Thank you.

"Nibble, nibble. Until the whole sick scam rots through." When anarchist-hackers the Blind Mice begin crippling the country's worst corporations -- the "Despicable Dozen" -- with web and software attacks, the public yawns. When they blip the power grid and penetrate municipal databases? Annoying but hardly a crisis. What about murdered executives? And what if the data disappeared for stock and account balances, property lines, personal ID records ... and never came back? ---- Molly McGill is fighting it. Her teenage son has come downstairs in a T-shirt from these "hacktivists" dominating the news. Her daughter's bus is canceled -- too many stoplights out -- and school is in the opposite direction of the temp job she's supposed to be starting this morning. She is divorced; her P.I. business went belly-up; seriously, what kind of life is this for a woman a mere twelve credit-hours shy of her PhD? Then the doorbell rings. It's Quaid Rafferty, the disgraced (but handsome) ex-governor of Massachusetts, and his partner Durwood Oak Jones, the preeminent small-force private-arms contractors in the Western world. The guys have an assignment for Molly. It's risky, but the pay sure beats switchboard work. They need her to infiltrate the Blind Mice. Danger, intrigue, action for miles and even a whiff of romance. Whatever you read, Anarchy of the Mice is coming for you. cover by Ethan Scott

In Birmingham AL, they welcomed the summer. Record-breaking Bass fishing and backyard barbecues went hand in hand with it's world class nightlife when the warm weather came. Throngs of tourists spent their hard earned money at the zoo and other gems the bustling city had to offer. And it all came complete with a large helping of that down home southern charm. But when the Summer of 2019 brought a wave of illness and death , the Birmingham people dreaded the news that came with each passing day. For Dr Richard Crenshaw, the CDC's fallen star, summer was a plague of heat and mosquito bites, and he wished only for it to end. Now that Pangea had arrived, summer, as well as the fate of all Birmingham, may do just that.
