Kagura wakes up in a fit a rage one summer night. She couldn't handle the heat! Especially since she's a yato... She runs into her fathers room and demands that she goes to a winter cabin vacation. Alone. Sadly, the tremendous torture doesn't end there. Turns out a special policeman had an assignment there...

"Kagura, I did not raise you to be stubborn," King Gintoki spoke, his voice stern. "Yes, Gin-chan, you didn't. But, alas if you had set me up with a Prince, I would be even more uncooperative than now. But, you did raise me to meet people halfway if one can not satisfy them fully. So I will accept a valiant knight by my side. Only one."

Okita Sougo feels annoyed, since it was a normal, boring day. Normally, he would just let it go, but he can't. At least not today.

An alternative life where Kagura and Sougo are in high school and are dating (kind of). However the girl in the class next door Nobume keeps "flirting" with Sougo and Kagura can't help but feel insecure about their thin relationship. Sougo wants to become a police officer simply because of his arch nemesis Hijikata. Sougo has sworn to beat Hijikata at anything and has never really given a real thought as to what he wants to do. Kagura has always dreamed of joining her father as a bounty hunter but he has never offered her a place at his side. It's always been Kamui and Papi. Unlike Sougo, Kagura does not plan to go to college. She plans to stay in town and train with Gin-chan and the other Masters, to make her father notice her. But when Sougo gets accepted into the best police academy, he is thrust into an impossible situation. If he accepts he will surely be able to overcome Hijikata once and for all.
