Tragedies change people. That being said, it shouldn't come as a surprise that the accident changed Gemma. Anger problems seem like the only issue to her, but her father and evil step-mother see a lot more than that lying underneath. Unable to help her, they go to their last resort; they send her to Safe Haven, a summer camp for troubled teens. Haven is a place where misunderstood teenagers can realize their problems and work through them in a safe environment. At least, that's what Gemma thought. The first things that come are the notes. Each one is written with a specific message on it, targeting the accident that killed her best friend and blaming her. The next are the secrets; everyone has one. But does everyone have one about her? The threads start unraveling as Gemma searches for the person who's hurting her; the person who is trying to drive her insane. But the closer she comes to uncovering the secret, the closer she comes to realizing that not everyone is who they seem. It was an unspoken agreement between us. Some nights he would show up at my window and I let him in, no questions asked. And the next day, it was forgotten; we just continued on as the strangers we were to each other.

Beautiful cover made by the very awesome ssaayyjj "At first glance, I really did wonder why the old lady had seemed so adamantly opposed to this town because it didn't look scary at all. Maybe she was balls-out against capitalism and nice houses-her smell could have foreshadowed it-because the place looked nice. Very nice. The streets were almost uncannily clean, at least compared to the ones I was used to back in Detroit. The Victorian styled houses, more often white than anything, belonged in those decorating magazines, with the lawn perfectly cut and surrounded by white fenced with American flags on them. I could almost imagine the husband laying on the lawn, butt in the air, with scissors and a magnifying glass grooming the grass to make it look this perfect. They undoubtedly used fertilizer and other toxic things to make it so green." When Oksana arrives in Hebron, Connecticut, she is not there for the scenery; she is there on a mission, seeking answers from her biological parents to all the whys that have been pledging her mind for years. The last thing she had expected was to be caught in the middle of a century old curse... and to actually want to stay tuned for more.
