Shinya Hiragi is starting senior year. His older sister Mahiru has a boyfriend who is very popular among the ladies and is a playboy. Of course it is Guren Ichinose, the bad boy in school. One day Shinya and Guren get called to the office forced to do something whether they like it or not.

This is the story about a boy named Guren Ichinose who's parents drowned when he was only 7 years old. Since then his aunt has taken care of him, not allowing him to go to the ocean ever again. He insists to go behind his aunt's back. One day after a fight with her he leaves to the sea, not knowing he would meet with a beautiful mermaid who he would be friends with, but little did he know the trouble he would encounter after bringing his little friend home.

Kureto has been concerned with Guren's actions for a long time now. With Guren being as lazy and carefree as he is, he causes trouble for Kureto. Kureto suspects that Guren is up to something, and assigns the only person capable to watch him; his own adoptive brother, Shinya. Wanting to be accepted into the Hiragi family, Shinya has no choice but to comply to his brother's wishes. Shinya thinks it's going to be a simple assignment that will gain him some trust from his brother, but as Shinya gets closer to Guren, he soon finds that he signed up for way more than he asked for.
