She just won't go to sleep. It's not because she doesn't want to - it's because she can't. She has insomnia. Which is a noun; it means to have habitual sleeplessness, or the inability to sleep. How long Amelia Mae Crawford has been a perpetual insomniac, she doesn't know. It's just been so long since she got any good sleep. That said; how will she feel when a true promise of sleep is presented? An eternal, everlasting, and permanent sleep? There's someone who wants Amelia to go to sleep - the only problem is, she isn't sure that she wants to anymore. Not with him around, anyway.

(**THIS BOOK IS LINKED TO MY BOOK 'WHISPERS OF A KILLER.' WHETHER OR NOT IT COMES BEFORE, AFTER, OR DURING THE OTHER STORY IS YET TO BE DETERMINED. THANK YOU.**) It seems that many things can run in the family. For some, it may be something as mundane and simple as several generations having the same eye colors, or all playing a sport in the same school. For others, it can be something as complex and disturbing as catching the eye of a killer. Even though the whole town went on high alert when the rumor of a pair of killer brothers with homicidal intents toward each other, and pretty much everyone else they came into contact with; there were still those who preferred to ignore the rumors and live whichever way they pleased despite the proposed danger. And, as in most cases with such stubborn and obstinate people - at least one of them was going to come to regret, or become uncertain of, their decision. The only question is, would they live long enough to find out why?

Lavelle Berlinsky does not want to die. That becomes very clear the night a psycho with a smile breaks into her sisters bedroom and tries to kill them both. Lavelle fights him off that night, but he's not the only one out there trying to kill her in the death trap known as the Parallel Forest. A failed government experiment placed in the middle of The State of Oklahoma- the man-made forest never had a known purpose. The trees are spread equally six feet apart. You can't go in without a ranger or you will most definitely be lost. So many murders and satanic rituals have been carried out there, so no one really wants to go in anyways. Lavelle has already lost her brother in the forest, she can't trust it. And yet, she still decides to walk through it at dark, as a shortcut. Real smart right? Well that's what she thought too. Until.....
