I began this piece of writing as a class assignment, but fell in love with the idea of becoming involved in Fitzgerald's complicated plot of The Great Gatsby, a story based in the debonaire 1930's. If you have not read The Great Gatsby, this is all you need to know to understand my short story: ♦︎ In New York, there were two islands called the East Egg and West Egg. Although both were wealthy, the West Egg people had earned their money through work, while the East Egg consisted mostly of people who inherited their riches. ♦︎ Mr. Jay Gatsby is a man who built up his money. He has fallen in love with the beautiful, yet already married, Daisy Buchanan. Sadly, he was never a man to understand true character. My character has fallen in love with Mr. Gatsby, but what she doesn't know is that love can be deadly. I have tried to mimic Fitzgerald's superfluous style of writing to have the readers fully immerse themselves in the era of the 30's. Enjoy. K_Kreative_K Copyright ©

"As for me... well, I just wanted a life where I was appreciated and looked at as something more than an object for men to toy with. I suppose some would consider me to be cynical, but I don't believe that to be true." Many know the story as told be Nick Carraway, but what's going on in that porcelain head of Daisy's? When Nick and Jordan come over for dinner, a side of Daisy that was never seen is revealed when she follows Tom towards the phone call that awaits. What finally got Daisy to drop the innocent rich girl façade? Will she find out something that she never knew about herself? Original story credit: The Great Gatsby by F. Disoriented and alone, Daisy Buchanan can not remember anything. Living in a world of darkness, Daisy begins searching for her own green light. Though Gatsby escapes Wilson's madness, Daisy is shot in the head, nearly forgetting everything. With Tom's glaring presence, it is up to Nick caraway, and Nick only, to help change Daisy into a new woman- the old person she used to be, before the world of east egg corrupted her. Will Nick be able to help Daisy bring back the love she had for Gatsby years ago? Or, will Tom take Daisy away forever? This was my English project, and is also my first story here. Enjoy! :)
