Rule #1: Keep the house clean. Rule #7: Call me Master Jamie. Rule #11: We're not friends. Rule #101: No falling in love; I promise you, it's one-sided. Joe's entire life crumbled when his successful husband blatantly asked for a divorce and admitted that he no longer had any feelings for him. He fell into a crippling depression, losing his workplace, becoming an alcoholic and finding himself unable to afford a place to stay. His disappointed grandmother left him in the streets, and he was left homeless where he slept in alleyways, drunk. Until a new bartender named Jamie started working in at local bar Joe usually visited, and Joe was shocked when he asked, "How about you move-in with?" Not only does he get paid, but he basically lives there for free. Jamie offers him all his clothes, and free time to do whatever he wants. Under one condition, not only does Joe have to work as his housemaid, but he MUST follow ALL THE RULES. And I mean all of them. Even Rule #101: No falling in love. Well, shouldn't be that hard, right? At least that's what Joe thought.

The characters are highly complex and they exist in a world that values strength over compassion, only the strong survive. The life inside the pack mimics that of a real wolf pack with a strict hierarchy that is established through fighting and power. It is also comparable to a medieval court, the king holds his divine right to rule and the queen exists solely to please and support the king. Throw in scheming courtiers with the ability to change into wolves with sharp claws and fangs and you have the pack construct. As the characters are basically wolves housed in a human skin and the story is laced with animalistic references and traits displayed by all. We first meet the main characters Meela and Grey it is on a bloody battlefield where they recognize each other as their soul mate, and Grey takes Meela as tribute for his pack's help in her brother's fight. From this point on Meela belongs to Grey, and in this world, a highly spirited female with a propensity for impulsive actions matched to a dog stubborn, self-assured, dominant male is going to cause problems. We follow Meela in her journey to become the pack's Luna, a pack who are even more wolf than the one she comes from, and with a mate who has set the highest standards for her to reach as his Luna(female Alpha) and will accept nothing less than perfection. In the midst of all this and the struggle they face to form a personal and public relationship, there is one incident that will change them both and the fate of the pack completely. From that point on both Meela and Grey are inevitably changed and for them to be together, either one or both needs to change, but when you live in a world where you are taught that weakness is easily exploited and to admit defeat can potentially lead to your destruction. Thank you @chortle for the great summary

"Pointing out my... average height every time you see me is one thing," Lavellan replied, nose twitching in annoyance. The little movement cause Dorian's stomach to flip. "I am quite tall for an elf, mind you." "Of course you are, considering you always have your head held so high. It's a wonder how your neck hasn't dislodged itself from your shoulders yet." ~Just small moments between Dorian and Lavellan, whose height seems to be a recurrent theme in their (heated) conversations. Sixteen-year-old Opal might be everything you hate in a person. She's snobby, conceited, and has more popularity than she knows what to do with in her sunny and densely populated Florida city. In contrast, Jack, nicknamed "Alaska" by Opal in regards to the quiet Alaskan town where he resides, is sweet, caring, and compassionate. The two are complete opposites in almost every way. When Opal is whisked away to some unheard of town in Alaska to spend spring break with her older brother and brand new and annoying stepsister, she is not happy. After all, spring break is a time to tan and lay by the pool, not freeze in the snow as you only get paler. But things get even more complicated when an accident leaves Opal and Jack lost in the middle of nowhere with nothing more than a survival backpack and each other. Though the two were brought together by chance and they disagree on practically everything, they now must rely on each other if they want to get back in one piece. With constant battles being thrown their way that seem nearly impossible to overcome, confessions that are bound to be unleashed, and the blossoming promise of second chances, there is no telling what lies ahead for these two. They only have one mission: find their way back to civilization in time before it's too late.
