Xander Mendez isn't sure he knows what's real anymore. Yesterday he was sure he was a superhero protecting Kingdom City along with friends, but now he was being told all of that was made up. Xander isn't a superhero. He's a patient in a mental institution. Everyone he thought he knew is someone else. His best friend is his short-tempered hatful roommate, the girl he loved who he saw die is his therapist, and his friend the vigilante badass is a lunatic stuck at the mental age of nine. Nothing seems right. Maybe Xander really was a mental patient. Maybe he did make it all up. Maybe he was crazy. Meanwhile, in the world Xander thinks he made up, a heinous villain is trying to take over the city with a severely addictive drug, a vigilante is having second thoughts, a hero is keeping his love and nemesis captive, and an agent is coming to terms with his past. And the city's only hope may be a speedster stuck in a prison of their own creation.

Layla Hardgens was never average. From childhood to adulthood, her destiny was to follow her parents' steps to become a superhero in Willow Hills, keeping the city safe from the villains that ran rampant in the streets. Her identity as Fallon, a super with power over water and fire, was kept a secret from the moment she turned seventeen and took her parents' place. Nearly four years later, Layla has settled in well to her double life. By day, she is Layla Hardgens, an ordinary college girl with a love for running track; by night, she is Fallon, a hero who watches over her friends and tracks her enemies to keep them in order. It's a secretive and somewhat lonely life, but she's never minded. Until she meets Trace Valance, a man who has just as many secrets as she does. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. N.L.PETIT 2014.

"Who are you?" the supervillain asks. His breathless voice is surprisingly soft. I slam my hands on either side of him, leaning in so close my nose touches his mask. I'm the taller one. "It's 'Please Don't Kick My Sorry Butt,' but you can call me 'Too late, I Already Did.' " And I have to admit, that one I'm a little too proud of. ***Hey, hey! Now a Wattpad featured story!*** The superheroes are gone. For as long as Monet can remember, a league of superheroes has guarded her city. They were the citizens' idols, guardians, and best friends. Then, only months ago, those same heroes poofed, leaving the population at the mercy of a supervillain known as 'Masquerade.' As teen reporter and self-proclaimed defender of truth, justice, and the American way, Monet Jackson vows to do anything to find the heroes. And that "anything," unfortunately, includes taking a dip in a vat of toxic chemicals, being fired, and being hunted by Masquerade himself. But someone's gotta protect the city, and she might as well write a blog about it. *** WHAT'S INSIDE: 1 Kick-butt heroine +1 Love Triangle... or ...Love Quadrilateral... or... [Formerly Featured!] Coming back from a vacation, with a gun pointed at her head was definitely not what Jean Saunders expected. Especially seeing a man flying around in the air, claiming to be the city's superhero. At least he wasn't wearing that embarrassing spandex outfit. Alas, due to her capability for getting into trouble, the city's superhero eventually recognises her and not in a good way, at all. Catching a superhero's attention is never a good thing. -------------------------- Opening and closing his mouth, he made some gestures as if he was trying to speak but he couldn't find the words to convey his message. "...what are you?" He finally managed to speak and I blinked my eyes at him. The heck? Does he think I am some sort of...alien? It's not like I'm some kind of weird species! What the heck does he think I am? "I'm human!" I said, narrowing my eyes at him. --------------------------
