Aminat jumped from her bed the instant the concussive sound reached her ears, a sweaty hand grabbed hers which hung freely by her side from the lower four poster bed, she flinched at first but realised it was Lucia. "Slush! Don't shout." Lucia whispered as she rolled from the bed and crouched toward the glass window. Two silhouette cuddled together on a bed opposite theirs shivered, it was dark, light was out, it was a foolish idea to even attempt to switch a lamp on. Whatever it was she needed to know. "What is it?" she asked, instinctively reaching for her shawl. Her attempted was interrupted with a gunshot and the blood curdling shriek of a girl. "Pleeese!" ...WHERE GIRLS DISAPPEARED IN ONE NIGHT... ...the story of martyrdom, of love, of the stolen, the lost, and their freedom... ...CHIBOK... Comments on CHIBOK by @Nigerians_community in The Nigerians Book Awards. This book! Awesome! Very awesome! The descriptions are one of a kind, so vivid and imaginable. The use of words and vocabulary is very adequate and interesting. The title is even catchy and everything about the book screams Nigerian. It is one that any reader would definitely want to finish no matter what. Kudos to the writer!! I'm proud and I'm so glad to have judged this book else I wouldn't have got to know about such a good book. I can hardly find any mistake in it, it's beautifully and awesomely written. CHIBOK is a must read book, a must finish book and it's my own winner❤. THANKS ALOT @lazypenNaija and @ ur_favouritexx

Jasmine Green has been unlucky in love for as long as she can remember. When she is dumped unceremoniously by text three years ago, she decides to only focus on friends, work, and law school. While on her first girls' trip to Essence Fest, she bumps into Montana Keyes, a handsome, charming, NBA player with the Knicks. There is instant chemistry between them and they enjoy a passion-filled weekend. She is content to leave their weekend as a pleasant memory while he promises a future. Although she finds herself drawn to him and wants to see what could happen, past hurts resurface. Can she trust herself enough to take a chance on love? Excerpt: Montana focused on my lips. "Like, I said, I'm in front of you right now." "Oh, so you trying to tell me you still want to be with me?" "What do you think?" He leaned to kiss me slowly and the moment his lips touched mine I was lost in emotion and I welcomed his kiss. We kissed heavily for a while as the ocean continued to wave around us. Montana then began to use his tongue and had moved on top of me in between my legs. It was almost like we were naked since his pants were thin and I could feel his hard length directly against my center. I had both hands rubbing the back of his head enjoying the kiss and the passion he could evoke from me. He ran his hand up my bare thigh toward my apex and toyed with the edge of my thin fabric. Then reality dawned that soon he would be inside of me and I wouldn't be able to leave him again. I pushed him off of me before I succumbed to my need for him. "Please, stop. It's me and not you, okay? You have done nothing wrong but I can't do this. " "Damn it, Jasmine!" He cursed in frustration. "Why are you such a coward?" I flinched at his anger and quickly got up and took off running in my bare feet back to my suite. I could hear his footsteps behind me and I only ran faster. I couldn't let him catch me...

The novel, Daniella, chronicles the odyssey of a teenage orphan who is raised by her grandparents in the village. She has always longed for one thing: to leave her lusterless village to explore new horizons in the city. And when the news comes that she will be moving to Lagos with Aunt Carolina, her joy knows no bounds as she thinks that she is on her way to paradise. What she, however, fails to realize is that the road leading to hell is tarred with ignorance. Amidst Daniella's helluva experience in Lagos, she meets with three teenagers in Damien College who made her stay a little less rueful - or so she thought. With these trio, friendship builds; they also break. Hearts melts; they also wrench. One thing is for sure: lessons are learned. This is a story of self-discovery, perseverance, family relationship, friendship, betrayal, sexuality, child abuse and the drama of high school.
