Dave Strider Dirk Strider and Jake English are the most famous people there is around. Johns father sends him to visit his cousin Jake but when he arrives he finds a strange boy named Dave that picks him up.

Ah, Hogwarts, School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Many strange things have happened there. Giant snakes, Dark Lords, crazy teachers, death, the whole 'war' ordeal- *crashes are heard* Sorry about her! Hehe... Anyway, back to the summary. John Egbert is a fourth year Hufflepuff student of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He has friends in different houses, including Dave Strider, a fourth year Gryffindor. For some strange reason, the Hufflepuff tower of Hogwarts gets... A bit wet, so to say and Hufflepuff students were welcome to salvage anything from the flood they could and stay in any of the other three towers. John chose to stay in Gryffindor tower, seeing as two his friends and his sister were in the same dorm room. Unfortunately, there's a thunder storm the next night. Why is this unfortunate you ask? Well, you see, John is terribly afraid of thunder and lightning. And he doesn't have the comfort of his friend Kanaya to calm him down. Yup, you see the problem now don't you?

Your Bro said it would be better to live in a suburban area in fucking-cold-as-frozen-shitington rather than your apartment in Houston. Now, this wouldn't be as bad if all these snotty kids were smart enough to figure out your mute, or if they all knew ASL, but apparently there's only one kid in the entire fucking school who can understand you. Dave has a problem. He was born with the power to control fire, into a city who aren't very accepting to the fact these certain people are different and "not normal". He keeps it a secret with only a few of his good friends knowing. That is until he meets one boy who changes it all.

John is the new kid, with everything that comes with that title; awkwardness, shyness, and attempts to make friends. Except all of this is made even worse with the fact that he's deaf. Dave is your stereotypical resident coolkid. Except he's not. He's a huge nerd, but most people find him intimidating, what with his shades and the fact that he doesn't talk to anyone. Or rather, that he can't talk to anyone, being mute. The two get paired together and form a close bond quite quickly, to the surprise of most of the school, but to none of their friends'. ((I really suck at descriptions. Also, updates for this aren't set, so be prepared for longish waits between chapters or several at a time.))
