They said some songs reminded them of us. Every song we danced to. But there was always music everywhere we went. They were wrong. It was about every song playing when you were next to me, when you didn't realize and I could't stop staring at you. ~Yuzuru Hanyu Fan Fiction~ [English translation of my own original story written in spanish]

What if... The skaters could live the lives that they never got to fully experience? In a parallel universe, none of the skaters know how to skate. No trainings to attend, competitions to take part in, nothing. Instead, they lead ordinary high school lives, complete with homework to do, friends to make, crushes to crush (not really). There is a catch, however. All these skaters all go to the same university prep school. Bonding over misunderstanding each other through the language barrier. How wonderful This is what happens when you take a handful of your favorite figure skaters, two overly obsessed skating fans (Who fail at writing but nevertheless, still write stories.) and dump two (heaped) tablespoons of exaggeration stir it together and BAM! (maybe make that 4) There you have it, Skaters 101. (but without the skating) This is a purely fictional crack fiction. Any references to real life people or incidents are all by coincidence.

Mai Nakamura is terrified for her first season as a senior in figure skating. At 18, she was expected to make the move earlier, but after skipping a season due to injury, she finds herself finally on the senior level and just terrified. Terrified that her jumps won't be enough, that she'll fall on her footwork, that she'll never quite be good enough to reach her dreams. As a US skater, the competition for a spot on the upcoming Olympic team is deep, and she has to be near perfect to even be considered. At her first competition, she meets Shoma Uno, an already great figure skater from Japan who has the skill to back up his impressive resume. At Lombardia, the two bond in ways that neither can fully understand and promise each other one simple thing- to see each other again.
