"Sometimes what you need isn't what you get, it's what you already have." 〰️〰️〰️ Being stuck in a people-pleasing routine is what Bayla Barclay knows best. She's got every aspect of her strained relationship down to a science. She'll wear herself away to nothing without a second thought for whoever needs it. It's what she's best at. But maybe what you're best at isn't always what's best for you. Maybe what you need isn't what you get; it's what you already have. That's the difference between getting and needing. * 2nd place in the Late Lovers category for the Romance Reads contest 2019 *

[SEQUEL TO "A YEAR AROUND THE SUN"] "This is a story about our love. A shatterproof kind of love that lasts even after the fireworks have gone up and dispersed, the smoke has cleared, and the ashes have settled into the ground. "Because in the end, you don't need fireworks. You just need someone who sticks around once they go out." ~~~~~~~~~~ « further description inside »

"This is a story about our love. An intoxicating, fast-paced love that didn't think of time as a source of measurement over the course of a summer that changed my life forever. "A love that resembled a firework. It went up with a bang - outbursts of colors, sounds and emotion - but only out with a short fizzle. An outline of smoke, with the ashes on the ground as the only telltale sign that we actually had something." ~~~~~~~~~~ « further description inside » #2 IN YOUNG ADULT (2/20/20) #6 IN #SUMMER (4/8/19) #93 IN TEEN FICTION (3/25/18) #97 IN TEEN FICTION (3/22/18) #263 IN TEEN FICTION (3/6/18) #647 IN TEEN FICTION (2/23/18) #674 IN TEEN FICTION (2/20/18) #853 IN TEEN FICTION (2/18/18) (An Ex-Featured Wattpad Pick)

| COMPLETED | Highest Ranks: #1 in Teen Fiction (06/11/17) & #1 General Fiction (07/22/17) | When Amaya receives an acceptance letter to her dream college, she is ecstatic. It has been her dream for as long as she can remember to follow in her father's footsteps of graduating top of her collegiate class. She has been working her whole high school career to be chosen for a scholarship to the university, so when she received it, Amaya thought it would all be smooth sailing from there. It truly was going well until her roommate jumped ship...well schools, and dumped all costs on her. To avoid getting a job that would distract her from her studies, Amaya decides on renting out the other bedroom in her apartment to split the costs and save some money. Poor Amaya didn't know when she made this decision, that a smooth-talking and annoyingly attractive, football player could be just as distracting, if not more, than employment. ***************************** Theodore Thompson, or as he liked to be called Theo, is a hot shot football player quickly climbing the charts and earning many of the NFL scout's watchful eyes. He could care less about morals, or even schoolwork. But for some odd reason Theo does care about good financial opportunities and saving money. So when a flyer goes up advertising an exceptional deal on a nice apartment, he goes for it. Unfortunately, at the time, Theo didn't know that getting a roommate came along with such an amazing arrangement. Cover made by: WinterFeels_
