Jack Woods has always been into music. It's his life, his escape, and he believes that it will be his future. However, his father wants him to take over their family's business straight out of college. So, they make a deal. Dad will pay for the first semester of college only. And by the end of that semester, Jack must be signed to a promising record deal that can help him advance in his music. If not, he'll return home and train to be Dad's successor. Kathryn White is a music prodigy. After breaking up with her long-time, first and only boyfriend, she goes to college for an escape. Then, Jack overhears her playing the guitar. When he picks up her raw, talented, beautiful tone, he knows immediately that she's the one. She'll be the one that will help him get signed. Instantly, he recruits her, without her say. He accounts for everything: money, food, and even a place to meet up. What he doesn't consider is the fact that she's deaf. The perfect music partner for him...well, she's deaf.
