Not purely because it's London, but also because she her uncle John, who recently got sent back from Afghanistan, lives there. When she arrives, she attracts the attention of Mycroft Holmes and develops a relationship that nobody saw coming. A/N: I'm warning you now that this is not a romance. I might throw something in, but no promises. I just figured that there are a lot of fanfics in which Sherlock adopts a child, and I haven't found any for Mycroft, and he is one of my favorite characters. One more warning, I will probably deviate from the actual timeline of the show, so I guess it's technically an AU, but not really. This is my first fanfic so please be understanding.
