In which a loving sister and a not-so-loving brother spend some much needed time together discussing their many differences and how much they are alike. As failures to their parents. Anna and Saxon Hartman both discover that they are indeed failures, suggested by their father and a box in the garage that contains Saxon's belongings (sip to be accompanied by Anna's) that reads, in bright mistake red 'FAILURE'. But, Anna hasn't given much though as to why she was or he she became such a let down to get parents. A trip with her brother soon fixes her problems and loosens her up a bit. "Why are we such fuck ups?" I groaned, flinging a pair of keys at him. "Because, we actually think about the consequences before doing something." He jumped into the car, a lazy smile on his face as the car started. ----------- May be an apply fic, if I get that far and I'm in desperate need of characters, then you can guarantee it.

Swish (n) A shot which goes through the net without hitting the backboard or rim. (v) To make a swish. The only thing Sal wants is to make the basketball team. Her older brother is the captain of the boys’ varsity team, so it only makes sense that basketball runs through her blood. Except for the fact that it doesn’t. Bring in Ezra, a cute senior with a mysterious backstory and a better jump shot than Jordan. He decides to help Sal make the team, whatever it takes: late nights in the gym alone, LOTS of contact, and a little more-than-friendly bonding. They both want Sal to make the team, but at the end of the day, all that really matters is the swish.

Voted "Most Likely to Join the Circus" consecutively by Killian High's past three 2009-2011 published yearbooks, and as said by practically every person in the entire school, Derek Wells is the school's ultimate class clown. Seriously, if you're ever in need of a good laugh just go to him and he'll have you clapping your hands and shaking with quiet laughter like some dumb seal. The biggest joke of all to him was love. What was that? It was just some mushy, four-letter word that somehow could make a girl either swoon or cry or slap you in the face depending on the circumstances. So when Derek puts on his newly-acquired glasses for the first time in school, he doesn't expect to see Gwen, one of his closest friends, in a completely different light. Suddenly when she smiles, it feels as if something is crawling around in his stomach and he isn't sure if it's the suspicious crab he had for dinner the night before or gas. When Derek confesses his feelings to her, of course she's going to take it as one big joke. It seems that "the funniest kid in the school" can't say those three words without having someone wait expectantly for the punch line. Will Derek prove to Gwen that he can be serious when he needs to be? Or will she just wind up laughing in his face?
