"Answer me one thing, Relapse. Please." He gives me a small nod, so I take a deep breath. "Why are you a villian?" I ask. He looks off at the city, the lights becoming fireflys in the darkness. Then he turns back to me staring at me silently, his mouth drawn in a straight line. "Why are you a villain?" I repeat, his blue-gray eyes hold a brewing storm. "Because I have no reason to be a hero." _________________________________________________ My world is far from ordinary. It may sound cliché, but it's true. Normalcy was thrown out the window since our city has living, breathing superheroes. They protect us from the wide range of threats that jeopardize the safety of Crystal City. And yes, they do wear spandex and have stupid catchphrases, but they also do things that the comic books like to avoid. Which seems great, unless you're the very thing they are protecting against. Being the bad guy is cool and all, stealing candy from babies and robbing banks and all that, but it's not all it's cracked up to be either. I'm Lyrah Hodges, and as a part-time supervillian, I know this better than anyone.

Note: I don't believe you need to read the first book but I think it'd be more fun if you did. (The Bad Boy's Secret) This story may be triggering at some points. If you have any questions regarding that please don't hesitate to message me. When you're a loser and friendless nerd you stick to what you're supposed to do. You get good grades, deal with the bullying and attempt to forget the past. But there are things an everyday nerd, such as myself should clearly not do. One: Don't crush on the most popular girl in school. Two: Be sure not to get sidetracked in your studies by including yourself in electives and such. Three: Don't get superpowers. Now what to do when, possibly, you might have done all the following listed above? This wasn't like a test where I just knew the answer. So you can imagine how long it took me to come up with the realization of what I should become. Or in other words, who I should become! Maybe I shouldn't have been begging for a change because this is a bit much...

Highest: #2 in adventure "My second question is what should my name be?" I raised my brows. "What? You don't have one yet?" He chuckled. "Come on, I'm new to this circuit. Just help me pick an identity, Jamie. A name. Maybe something science-y, cool, and cold." He said, tapping his dark blue mask idly. "Oh, and It must begin with C because it would take me ages to find a trustworthy tailor who is also secretly a scientist to fix this suit." "How about Caitlin Snow? She is a biochemist and she can shoot ice out of her hands." I suggested. "And if anyone says she is not cool, I'm willing to fight them on that." "As much as I'd like that." He crosses his arms, smile tugging at the corner of his lips. "She is Killer Frost already and stealing another super's identity is not cool." I threw my hands in the air.
