Newt was angry at the world but Thomas helps him realize it may not be all that bad, especially to have a new brother. Will Newt learn to love Thomas as a brother or something more? Thomas's dads girl friend and son were moving in with his dad, him and his little sister. Thomas was angry at first but he learned to accept it and now his mission is to make Newt accept it. The third hardest thing sixteen year old Newt had ever done was leaving everything he knew to go to America. The second hardest thing he'd ever done was jumping off the wall of his school. Newt is a reserved small boy who's rich British accent draws attention away from his noticeable limp. Thomas is a confident star athlete on the track team who also excels academically. The private campus of Southern New York Glade University is a place for fresh starts and big dreams. Now of course I guess nothing really turns out quite how it is in the movies... Exposed to the real world of heartbreak, secrets, agonizing classes and awkward encounters they both realize that the most important thing that anyone can have is someone to lean on, sometimes in Newt's case, literally.

Newt is alone in the world, or at least he thinks he is, until he befriends Thomas. They become friends and before long, more. But Thomas is hiding a secret, and Newt what's to know what it is, and why.

Newt is a suicidal teen who feels he is worthless. Thomas as has had feelings for the boy for a short while but doesn't know much about him. Will he still feel the same when he finds out what's under that fake smile?

It's been two years since Newt first woke up to the Glade and, since Alby and he managed to enforce a number of rules to stop anarchy among all the other boys, nothing has changed much. Every month means the arrival of a new boy to the Glade and four weeks more without finding a way out of the Maze, and every month Newt grows more hopeless about his future. Until Thomas. Thomas, with whom Newt shares confusing visions about their past every time their eyes meet-and who turns out to be the first of several factors leading to a brutal change in the Maze's rules.
