After Crait, the Resistance is all but decimated. It will take time before they regain the strength and numbers to be anything more than an annoyance to the First Order. In the meanwhile, the Force bond between Rey and the new Supreme Leader not only continues but grows. They begin to be able to see one another's surroundings, touch things... and as the bond grows, so does their relationship. Mutual distrust becomes begrudging acceptance. Then a strange sort of friendship. And then... well... ;) Post TLJ Reylo fanfic; VERY Rey/Ben centric; will focus almost exclusively on times when the bond brings them together; A VERY patient slow burn that devotes a lot of time to character development. I normally write about the Captain Swan ship or dabble in a little Harry Potter, I've thought about this before, and now have some inspiration. After watching The Force Awakens, I thought Kylo Ren and Rey would either end up being related or it would be a star-crossed lovers kind of thing. After watching The Last Jedi I can definitely see things going in a romantic direction with them. Let's face it, is it really a relationship if you haven't tried to kill each other at least once? After all, Emma held a knife to Hook's throat and tied him to a tree, and then there was a sword fight and she knocked him out. So here's my first go at a story based on what I recently learned is a ship called Reylo!

He smirked, he was quiet aware of the affect he had on her and hoped that in time it would be enough to switch her. They both had a struggle, with both sides pulling on them in two different directions. This fanfiction begins with the snow duel on StarKiller, but with a reylo twist... Rey always saw something in Kylo Ren. A glimmer of the person he once was. She saw an equal on the opposite side so close, yet so incredibly far away. She knew what needed to be done. She needed to turn him but she didn't know that process would mean she fell in love with Ben Solo.

"Do you know what will happen?" I glanced at Snoke's ever gruesome face, partially hidden in the shadows. "What?" "Do you know what will happen...if a Sith Lord and a Jedi join together?" I just looked at him and didn't say a word. "Light and dark cannot exist together, you will destroy each other." Based off a lot of Star Wars stuff and my overactive imagination :)

If there was one thing Rey couldn't do, it was turn her back on her friends when they needed her, even if that meant sacrificing her own freedom. Most would call such compassion a selfless strength, while others would see it as a foolish weakness. Unfortunately for her, Kylo Ren considers it an opportunity to be exploited. Post-TLJ.
