In the new age of nuclear warfare, or the Atomic Era, a group of scientists came together to find a new source of energy to counter the gaining popularity of nuclear energy. What they discovered was far beyond the human imagination and it changed the landscape of the United States, splitting the country in half. The Pathos Virus was a new element, and its powers became a tool and a weapon for the citizens of the new independent country on the west coast of North America, New Sinistram. In the year 2016, sixteen-year old Cyres Sullivan, the son of one of the most well-established government officials, Radley Sullivan III, is preparing for his first year in the Pathogen Academy of New Sacramento. The Pathogen Academy is a place where the Afflicted of the Pathos Virus hone their powers of controlling Earth's elements, and adjust to the life of gaining superhuman physical abilities.
