He gets killed by All for One, and Izuku witnessed it. He watched all of the heroes stand by and not bat an eye as All Might got killed by All for One. Anyone with eyes could've seen that All Might couldn't've defeated him, and yet they didn't back him up. The world was a cruel place and Izuku was tired of pretending everything was all right.
