The only thing existing from Dawn Mercy's memory was the water, and the pain of it clogging up her lungs. When she first woke up on the hospital bed, that was all she was left with. Dawn keeps her memory loss a secret to avoid unnecessary attention until Robbie Kay, a former boyfriend of her's, notices her acting strangely at times. After it became clear to him that Dawn was experiencing memory loss, he helps her bring them back and in the mean time, tries to recover her lost feelings for him. However, when Dawn starts to find attraction in another man, Robbie finds himself changing into a side of him that he got rid of when he first fell in love with her.
