The Rookie 9, Team Gai, and their respective senseis are going out on a bonding, "get to know each other," vacation trip for the week. Luckily for Naruto, this is happening around the time of the Kyuubi's Defeat Festival, so he'll be away when the villagers try to play their favorite game known as "the fox hunt." Naruto is nervous and hopes that this trip won't reveal too much of himself. They are headed to a cabin in the Forest of Wandering Souls, just at the border of the Land of Fire. Legend has it that the forest holds the spirits of those who have died in the Land of Fire, and have "one last wish" before they can be at peace. All of his life the forest would calm Naruto and he voluntarily spent his time there. He now lives in the forest with his plants and some animals. However he has a skill not seen since the first hokage Hashirama Senju, which is Mokuton, the skill of wood release. He puts up a mask as a dead last after his first two teachers purposely failed him at the academy. But when he finally passes will he show his skill and wisdom to the world, or will he stay hidden.

For as long as he can remember, Naruto has always been the centre of the citizens of Konohagakures hatred. One fateful day the villagers attacks went too far. Will Naruto be able to live on as he is? Does every cloud have a silver lining and will this story have a happy end? (the characters in this depiction are all over the age of 18)
