But Hermione has received news that changed everything. She survived one battle, only to come home to another, and this time it may be one she won't survive. The second of May, 1998. That was the battle of Hogwarts. The day she though it would all end. 4 months had passed. It was August. And Hermione begged her parents to let her redo her final year at Hogwarts. She promised herself if she did go back, then no one was allowed to know what she had been dealing with and what she was still fighting. But what she hadn't been expecting was that Malfoy would find out far before anyone else would. He helps her more than anyone else could, showing both what the hard years had done to both young adults. Five years after the war, Draco and Hermione meet by chance as she wanders into a French vineyard just hoping to re-live a trip she took there with her parents during her school years. Instead, she finds a shirtless, barefoot Draco Malfoy hiding out unbeknownst to the wider wizarding world. He's ashamed of his past misdeeds, and she's been recently humiliated by her soon to be ex-husband. Neither are aware that their lives are about to be inexorably linked, forever.

They waited another minute before Hermione's hair stopped changing and she blinked a few times before looking around. She firstly spotted Draco, and grinned. "Oh boy," Draco whispered. After Hermione gets an unexpected letter from Ron her world falls apart that's until someone asks from help and a new love interest starts to form.
