"They said you're the best with engines."
Ziya didn't look up. "They say a lot of things."
"Yeah?"
A pause.
"Which ones are true?"
She tightened the bolt, wiping her hands on a rag like he wasn't standing right there.
"None that matter to you."
A small chuckle.
He stepped closer. Slow. Confident.
"I think they do."
That's when she finally looked at him.
Tattoos.
Piercing stare.
That kind of smile you already knew was trouble.
"...You're in the wrong shop."
"Nah," he said, eyes dragging over her like he already figured her out. "I'm exactly where I need to be."
Ziya stood up straight. Calm. Unbothered.
"Get your car and go."
Instead of moving, he leaned against the workbench.
"You always this cold?"
"You always this irritating?"
He grinned wider.
"Depends. You always this hard to get?"
Her jaw tightened just a little.
"I'm not something to get."
Silence.
Then softer-dangerous.
"Everything's something to get."
Ziya held his gaze.
"Not me."
That should've been the end of it.
It wasn't.
Because he didn't walk away.
And Ziya...
didn't either.
-
Late nights under streetlights.
Engines screaming down empty roads.
Police sirens too close.
Money, danger, and lines you don't come back from.
Ziya built to escape her past.
He lived like he didn't care about his future.
And somehow...
they crashed into each other anyway.
-
"You don't want this," she told him.
He stepped closer, voice low.
"I want you."
"You don't even know me."
"I don't need to."
Her heart stuttered-just once.
Wrong move.
Because he noticed.
And now?
He wasn't letting go.
-
She runs from everything.
He chases anything that runs.
And this time...
he's not playing to lose.
