Pope Alexander VI is the loathed Pontifex Maximus, the Holy Father of the Catholic Church. however, rumours describe him as no better than the devil himself. It is a known fact the libertinous Pope fathered children before the papacy, and kept them under his protection his whole life. Lucrezia Borgia is one of them; his most beloved daughter, his pride and joy, she sees her father going from Cardinal to Pope. Pompously introduced to the secret walls of the Holy Roman Church, a world of corruption, plots and devils, young Lucrezia very quickly learns that religion and sin walk hand-to-hand on the beautiful Renaissance era of Rome.

This is a retelling of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale Rapunzel. I wrote this story in 1995, right after college, and I'll admit it's kind of silly. Just like in Disney's excellent film "Tangled," I took the name Gothel directly from the original tale because it sounded too chilling not to use. I hope you enjoy it! - - - - - Copyright © 1995 and 2014 by Pete Tarsi All rights reserved. All rights reserved.
