The Universe Revealed is my attempt to discuss more thoroughly the main questions that we humans should ask about our existence, our universe and our place in it. These are mostly my thoughts on science, religion and philosophy as it applies to the human condition. My first book, The Theory of Nothing, covered many subjects. This book will be more specific to the big questions about life and what it means.

"When I was born I was so small I was mistaken for a french fry. I was never an ordinary child. My best friend was a seagull. I was also illegal. Artificially intelligent people like me had been banned ever since that thing with the Twelve Elevens. Mother raised me for profit. Buyers and sellers had other plans for me, but then I grew a mind of my own. This is the story of how my brain ended up inside this box." Candles is a black-market, "artificially intelligent person" (or A.I.P., or "ape" in the colloquial sense, as in 'the planet of the'), an organic being, farm-raised on genetically engineered smoothies and destined for auction to the highest bidding criminal enterprise. Gifted with the ability to communicate with foul-mouthed seagulls and ill-tempered felines, this gender-less, age-less, race-less creature has to find its way to escape from the clutches of its mother and other assorted enemies, in this fairly exciting and ultimately utterly unexpected story.

Currently nominated for two major Australian literature awards. Sometimes, it's impossible to get home, especially if home is not where you think it is. Aboriginal urbanite Billy doesn't know much about his heritage and he's quite content to let it stay that way. One late night out changes all that. After being marooned on a central Australian highway, he finds his future determined by a pair of unlikely saviours, elders of a small aboriginal community, and some uncomfortable truths. Not to mention the assistance of a mysterious entity only he can see. Relying on instinct and confounded by circumstances beyond his control he tries to find his way home. Loreless-part quest, part ghost story, part contemporary tale-takes the reader on a road trip through a central Australia filled with humour and endless surprise. Wattpad Featured Story - reader's quotes: "Captivating!" "...an evocative narrative.." "...fascinating..." "..beautifully and compassionately written! I literally gasped out loud." My grandmother died and left the family fortune to me. No one else. Just me, her favorite grand-daughter. Yeah. That ruffled some feathers, which I would be fine with, if only it hadn't painted a target the size of Texas Road House on my back. Until my next birthday, if I "accidentaly" die for any reason, the fortune will be divided equeally between all of the relatives that got stuck with a big fat nothing. So yeah, they are all trying to kill me. I mean, who wouldn't? They've got billions of reasons to see me croak. I've got nowhere to go, and I can't trust any one I used to know. There is this guy that I think can help me out, Chester, but we don't exactly get off on the right foot when we meet. He's incredibly connected and has agreed to help keep me alive, for a fee. He's so incredibly guarded and secretive that I just want to crack him open and see what's inside that stiff suit of his. So anyway, the goal is to keep me alive for the next three months. I think I'm kind of more than he'd bargained for, but we'll see.

Everybody is somebody else's weirdo: I suspect I may be many people's. Consider this a brain dump, or indeed a Brian dump given the misspelled pseudo-entity who lives in my skull. Tangential thoughts, comments, ideas, and general Brianisms from the soggy grey matter of Gav. And other stuff...
