It's a sin to tell a lie. It's also a sin to steal, cheat, and kill. Officer/Deputy George Ryan Ross III has been polished with these "golden rules" during his Catholic upbringing in the 1940's, while in the midst of a desolate West Texas town. Demoralized by his own fundamental principles of "truths" and "lies;" he must untangle a web of deceit, chauvinism, prejudice, and intolerance before more women end up dead.
Brendon Urie is an FBI rookie in training. He's sent to the "middle of no-where" Texas on a case of dead barmaids. Love is something he never thought he would obtain with his type of lifestyle. Houston possesses underground clubs for men of his taste. Then he lays eyes on a certain West Texas cop with curly brown hair and amber eyes.
"Be sure it's true when you say I love you
It's a sin to tell a lie
Millions of hearts have been broken
Just because these words were spoken..."
Inspired by: The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, play written by Larry L. King and Peter Masterson; The Killer Inside Me, novel written by Jim Thompson, also film adaptation; ID Channel-A Crime to Remember.

This was created from a dare by @DeedeeLauren, thank you for your input, beta, proofing, and directing this story. I couldn't have thought up this fiction with you and your encouragement. You'll always be my muse.
Thank you @calynell for your advices on "those scenes" and your suggestions on the most difficult character for me to write: Brendon.
And a grateful and heartfelt thank you to @VickiStafford, who keeps me from looking like an uneducated, hillbilly-redneck. Thank you for your willingness to step in and edit. You have been given the title-Grammar Guru.
