Adrien is forced to try his best to keep Lila happy at the threath of his father pulling him out of school but sneaks of with Marinette when he can. And she became friends with Chloe after the blonde tried her best to be a better person. Other than them her only friends are Luka and Kagami. After four years of Hawkmoth threathing everything they hold dear and praying on every negative emotion the young heroes are tired and weary. The stakes have slowly risen with every battle and even with the Lucky Charm cure they can longer ignore the aches of wounds that aren't there. When Marinette gets the class a trip to Gotham she isn't sure what to expect. However she can say for sure she didn't expect to attract the attention of a certain vigilante/billionaire family. They vowed that they would find each other again. Stuff happens to both of them, but Marinette gets more bad stuff than good stuff. And they get a chance to, when Marinette wins a trip to Gotham for her class 8 years later, when they are 18.

Ladybug and Chat Noir captures Hawkmoth and brings him to the police, in the process they find out his identity. Something in Chat Noir breaks and he goes crazy. Marinette watches as Chat Noir murders her parents and proceeds to de-transform in front of her and confesses his love. Marinette having enough of her class bullying her and taking care of Paris makes a run for it after taking the miraculous box from its hiding place. Kaalki teleports her somewhere and three people find her and take her in. A while later a boy by the name Damian takes an interest in the Parisian girl. His father died just a few months ago, his relationship with Dana is on the fritz, and to add to it all he's currently the Batman/ the personal assistant of an elderly Bruce Wayne.
