The Guardians are alerted by Pitch's second return in a kingdom called Arendelle. The kingdom, already under Pitch's rule, has a queen - who has already been corrupted by Pitch's darkness - named Elsa. The power of the two combined are too much for the Guardians and they come to the conclusion that the only antidote to the problem is sending Jack back in time to find a single moment in the whole of Elsa's life where the entire course of events leading to the present can be changed so that the future of the Earth and all the people in it may be saved.
