Annalissa's world is perfect- except for that it's not. As a member of the lowest class of Dystopia, the Orphans, she has no say in her destiny. The government decides everything for her. Her only shot at upwards social mobility and maybe even autonomy is to be Chosen up into the Royal class- the top 1% of the population, to be trained as a leader in this corrupt futuristic world. Like that's ever going to happen. By some stroke of luck, Annalissa is Chosen up during the Choosing Day ritual on her sixteenth birthday, right into the Royal sect, along with three other of Dystopia's most perfect, most beautiful, most intelligent, and most amazing people. But when a cute boy from back home appears in her new life speaking of rebellion, what will Annalissa do? And what about Aidan, the mysterious son of the President, who seems to harbor secret affections for her? (Uh-oh, I smell a love triangle) As tensions rise in Dystopia, everyone looks to newly-Chosen Royal, Lady Annalissa Hunter, to lead the country in a rebellion. But is she really prepared to do so when inside she is faced with so much romantic conflict? Join a relatable teenage protagonist just like you and me on this futuristic journey through rebellion, oppressive government regimes, getting your first boyfriend, and all the other clichés of the YA Dystopian genre. ------------------------------------------------------------ *WARNING* There's minor swearing throughout, just in case that's a problem for you. ALSO: Although I allude to A LOT of Dystopian works, the actual plot and characters are mine. While materials directly referenced are of course the intellectual property of those who are responsible for their creation, I'm gonna lay claim on everything else mentioned here.
