(COMPLETE) In a dystopian China blighted by climate change, a troubled genius sets out to save mankind and redeem his family's honor, but not if his enemies have anything to do with it... By 2048 climate change is deadly and threatens the existence of all life on Earth. Subsequently, an unprecedented program called The Solution is set to be proposed by China's Environment Secretary, Xen Lai. A technical genius, Xen hopes that mankind can avoid the 'World-Ender' mega storm he's predicted is almost upon us... However, Xen is a troubled man who's recently done unthinkable things, and kept the wrong company... Naturally, his credibility is questioned once he gets exposed. Amid the controversy, Xen must heal a dreadful rift with his journalist brother, Chon Lai, who's been forced to lead coverage of Xen's scandal for BTV. Xen must also appease a ruthless activist in Robin Albers. And, Xen must outsmart the crime boss of the entire underworld, The Pink Lady. Only then, will his family have the chance to restore their honor, ascend, and fulfill mankind's destiny among the stars... @Wattpad , Williams weaves pop culture through this serialized masterpiece of Science Fiction, which in turn monopolizes the rising sub-genres of 'EasternPunk' and 'Climate Fiction' aka 'Cli-Fi'. To sum it up, 'In a Chinese future, it's 'Ready Player One' meets 'Interstellar'! For @ScienceFiction 's Anniversary Challenge, we had to produce a 10K story. PROMPT: 'Inhabitants of Earth must take to the stars in order for the human race to survive. To remain would involve certain extinction. Where they go, what they encounter on the way, who and what they find at their destination is entirely up to you!' For this one I took a nostalgic approach, and went with some World War II alternate history! Ultimately, I tried to pay homage to one of Science Fiction's greats, Phillip K. Dick. Literary Warning - the narrative contains both American English and English English due to the split setting ;) PS, I've added some dramatic YouTube audio - earphones, earplugs, and headphones advised - as is a PC/Laptop! Enjoy ^_^ #300 Highest Rank in Science Fiction

It's 2229. Luther Wall, the most powerful man in the world, is inexplicably dead, leaving the population stunned and the world at risk of civil war. Many believe he was immortal and let himself die, but no one knows why. Ash, a fourteen-year-old boy for whom Luther was an idol, is more shocked and angry than most. Luther, like Ash, was a Numa (New hUMAns), a member of a new race produced through genetic engineering to have superior strength, agility, and resistance to injury. Known for his great powers, he single-handedly defeated the genocidal armies of the Shadows fifteen years prior. Many hoped he would teach the Numas the secrets of his powers, but instead he died. Now, the Numas are defenseless against the rising tide of Shadow sympathizers. At Luther's funeral, Ash wanders around Luther's house in search of clues that might explain his hero's death. He finds a black ball upon which enigmatic messages appear. The ball, a sentient toy tells Ash, holds the key to Luther's secrets, but will only reveal it to those worthy. Ash follows the directions of the ball and ends up investigating the murder of an old war criminal and a bloody bank robbery despite his father's opposition. If Ash solves the mystery, he will become the new hero and teach the secret of immortality to his people, but if he doesn't, he could cause the extermination of his own race. Meanwhile, he wonders whether he really is the right person to inherit Luther's power, and learns that prejudice can lurk in all of us. THE NEW HUMANS is a YA sci-fi novel that may appeal to readers looking for entertaining and imaginative science fiction seasoned with humor, like Ernest Cline's Ready Player One.

(previously adapted for the July 2021 sci-fi competition, now featured in the Ooorah's profile, Tevun Krus ezine. chapter 89 of issue 100! ) Francis felt like he was losing his mind in his old age when he kept seeing strange things. Should he have gone for those implants and body upgrades after all? Francis lived in a world filled with technology but he resisted change and lived in an ordinary house surrounded by silver towers. Glowing doors to another world are one thing but purple geometric ants are something else. Worst of all he had to deal with it all on the run, even though he has no idea why he had to hide. Why were the police chasing him anyway? This story is based on a dream that I had a few years ago, it was so vivid that I still remember it. This is a science fiction multiverse story. copyright Tuesday 1st of June 2021 by Sarah Nana Thank you.
