JJ and Emily have a complicated history. They had feelings for each other, but JJ got scared and ran away, straight into a relationship with Will. Then everything changed when Ian Doyle showed up. Part of Emily's secretive past caught up with her. Emily faced Ian and survived, but no one but Hotch, Strauss, and the Ambassador knew she survived. When she finally returned, she didn't come back the same person she was when she left. JJ didn't come back from her secretive time away the same either. The team thought she was at the State Department. Know one knew she was in the Middle East trying to find terrorists or grieving, thinking Emily died fighting Ian. Emily is back, but is still keeping some big secrets from everyone, but JJ has a couple big secrets of her own. Can they find their way back to each other?

After JJ had been saved from Askari and Hastings, she goes through a hard time. Will doesn't recognize her anymore and even Henry discovers, that something is wrong with his mother. Although Will and the team try to help JJ, she changes incessantly. Will is desperated and in worry about his wife, but even more about his son. And one day he makes a momentous decision with unexpected consequenzes, which change everything.
