it's hard to explain the incomprehensible and overwhelming emotion, and lack of emotion, that I've been bearing for so long on my own. you can't fathom the inability to move, speak, eat, think, or even see clearly in this time of irregularity. all I can really describe is the hollow feeling of dragging this shell of a body with me. i'm trapped in myself. when one is like this, you know that you're not really... you. *** The way I've chosen to write every word - including the formatting, punctuation, and capitalization errors - represent symbolic significance to me. Explaining everything would expose my personal life in ways that I am extremely uncomfortable with, so please forgive me for anything that disturbes you. In this collection of poetry, I tend to us descriptively vague language to describe specific situations and emotions I've felt, and continue to feel, for the most part. I invite you to guess the battles and experiences I've written about, and to try and find the underlying meanings I've placed in each set of words. Or, even better, find your own meaning. I know that no one might care, but I've written these emotions for the purpose of expressing my distraught, and I am publishing this in an effort to reach out to others in the midst of their own wars.

Sometimes we lay awake at night, thinking. Sometimes the voices in our head won't quiet down once the noise of daily life has gone away. Sometimes all our emotions feel like bursting out of our heads. That is when I write. I write to try and calm the voices. I write to try and find peace. I write in hope that maybe someone else will understand. And maybe that someone will be you. So take a read. Listen to a couple of my late night ramblings. See if maybe you understand, maybe you feel something in my writing. I don't know. Maybe you will. It's up to you.

the space station hums with the early morning traffic, the wafting of coffee and fresh croissants filling the air. for the first time, you are not behind your desk, hitting your shins on the weirdly placed piece of metal, but strapping yourself inside of a space suit and getting ready to begin preparations to take off. when you were younger, they would tell you that the stars could be yours if you tried hard enough, and now they would be. do you accept your mission? to travel to pluto and enter the dark depths of this author's mind? because perhaps, like they used to say, those little asteroids and abandoned planets at the edge of the galaxy could explode in colorful array and turn into something beautiful. perhaps you could see it, if you accept and begin to open the pages. ➳ poetry by a person with the stars under their eyes and a soaring shooting star in their heart, with feelings much too large to keep in one universe. unedited. #16 in hopes and #17 in hopes at some period of time. to be revamped with new cover art soon. ➳ first place and a perfect score in the winter dusk awards. first place in the cherry awards
