Harry broke up with Ginny because she cheated on him for dating and caught kissing with Dean Thomas. Hermione however, broke up too with Ron because he also cheated on her by dating Lavender Brown. Both Harry and Hermione felt something between the two of them, whenever they have each other, they felt love. Harry somehow have a huge crush on Hermione in first year without her knowing, Hermione also have a huge crush on Harry when they first met on the train. This story follows before Dumbledore died and during their sixth year in Hogwarts when they began to have feelings for each other and after sixth year, follows after Dumbledore died and before the battle of Hogwarts.
