The United States got power hungry after World War 1, so they began to devise a plan to keep gaining more control, not cluing the President in. The government descended into oppression for centuries, putting more control on the people, arrests for no reason, and checkpoints, like a living prison. People have to hide who they truly are. Safety is not guaranteed. Then, out of the ashes, a little rebellion that has been forming for years arises, with an insane hope that they can stop this tyranny and oppression.

Hazel and Veronica are best friends. That is how things have always been and always will be. So why is Veronica hanging out with the popular kids? Why does Hazel feel the two of them drifting apart?
