If he doesn't convince his parents he's a changed man, he can say goodbye to his crown and inheritance. Enter Jenny, an actress who has just been hired to play the role of her life. Especially since she doesn't like him. But soon the two find out that they will need each other in ways they never thought possible.

I am Prince Laen Braed. If you are familiar with the stories of @LaDameBlanche, specifically The Dark Series, The Dark Prince etc, you will already know much of my story. These are excerpts from my diary beginning in 1842 shortly before my sixteenth birthday. I am doing this under protest as apparently it will be "good for me". This story was originally published on Dec 10, 1905 in The New York Sunday World as "Gifts of the Magi." It was subsequently published as The Gift of the Magi in O. Henry's 1906 short story collection The Four Million.

Ilyia has spent her entire life living far away from her fairy brethren. This doesn't stop her from finding her own kind of trouble, however. When a handsome lightning fairy named Taren enters her world, she learns of a great darkness spreading its tendrils across Medira. Worse, the dark fairy, Lord Merwellian, is after her and her tears of healing. After her mother is taken hostage, Ilyia has to join together with Taren to save her mother, and Medira, from certain doom.
