When our eyes met, the memories all came rushing back. From throwing her the bread to saying goodbye at the Lightening Tree to the red plaid dress on the first day of Kindergarten. I remembered it all so much clearer, the shiny memories seemed to fade to so much dimmer terrors. But she's nearly dead. How can I convince her to go on, that life is still worth living. How can I reignite the fire that burns in the eyes of Katniss Everdeen, the girl who was on fire, without getting burned in the process. (My second After Mockingjay story. I just want to make one a little more true to the books. This is not discontinuing Help Me Make It Through The Night and Here I Go Again. I just want to write a different view of what could have happened.)

The seventy fourth annual Hunger Games are finished, Peeta and Katniss just got back from the tour, happy to be away from it all. But when Katniss begs Peeta to stay with her just one more night, something will happen that will change their lives forever. And it's not the quarter quell. What if, it hadn't just been a trick? What if Katniss had fallen in love with Peeta? What if the night the Quell was Announced, Katniss ran to Peeta's house after talking to Haymitch instead of her own? What if the events that night left Katniss pregnant and awaiting a fate that could end in a birth in the arena? Those are the what if's I've always asked myself while reading the hunger games series. I think it's time those questions were answered. Katniss Everdeen has found herself in a situation that is a danger to her and the ones she loves. Ever since she pulled out those berries, President Snow has been a looming threat. When the Quarter Quell announces that she will be forced to repeat the Hunger Games again, she finds comfort in the arms of her star crossed lover, the boy she's turned away from, the boy she's grown to love. But when she finds herself pregnant, Katniss can only wonder how she can get both Peeta and their child out alive, Even if it means her own life.

This story begins two years after the war and rebellion is over, and it is simply a story about Katniss' and Peeta's life together. In many other stories I've read, the Hunger Games return and continue to slaughter twenty-three children every year. That has not happened and is not going to happen in my story. This story is for Everlark shippers, so Katniss is not going to run off with Gale or something. Katniss is very happy with Peeta. They have everything by having each other, but they aren't married. Yet. When will Peeta ask? How will she react when she suddenly gets an unexpected visit by Gale, who has ignored her for two years? Read and get the answers to these questions.

Aloe Mellark is the daughter to Katniss and Peeta. With her 12th birthday nearing and the Hunger Games soon after the family is on edge.
