"You're playing a dangerous game, Leah." Underneath those thick lashes peeked jade crystals, blazing with some daring spark that once again woke that primitive greed I could not control. "You're my wife now. I can have you whenever I please." I had leaned over her as she sat in the bathtub, all tumbling hair of gold and one daring smile that had my blood rush with mad desire; an erection that throbbed since the second I had interrupted her bath. Wrenching her gaze from mine, she ran her hand over her lathery bare leg. Damnation. She was playing my resistance. "Can you? Remember the rule?" A mere glance up at me and another wave of heat rushed up my legs. When she traced her wet finger over my jaw, I had to suspend that crippling necessity to scoop her in my arms right then, and take her to my bed for the night. "Six months.. One night. Who will break it first?" Those crimson lips moved in a way that had me pulsing with lust. A growl broke from my chest with the realization of her words. A rule I made up. Hell, it was supposed to be a marriage of benefits only. Six damned months only. And yet- "The rule stands for you only." I reminded. Why was I still dressed? Why in the hell was I holding back when she sat there naked in that tub, waiting for me to ravish her? "I will never beg for a night with you, Valentine." She said the obvious. "Because you'll do it first." *** |18+ Mature Content|

"NO!" I pull at his hand, trying to restrain it from hitting the glass. He can't break it! "Please, don't!" I cry out, only to be thrown across the room, my body colliding with the wall. My only way home, my only chance to see the world I love and know. And just like that, his fist collides with the mirror, the glass shattering to the ground as I scream. Tears begin to fall as I scream at him, watching as he approaches me like a predator, his hands bloody, his eyes turning black. I'm trapped here, forever. And he couldn't be more happy.

Now available in paperback! "I LOVE IT!" - CarniaHolmes "I'm going to break your nose, because I don't like your face," Carter said. She pointed to Zac. "I'm going to dislocate your other shoulder, just to make them even." She cocked her head and gave the main guy a sickly sweet smile. "I'm going to break your wrist, taking away your baseball career. And finally you, Finch," she said, looking to the last guy. "I'm going to bust your ankle because I don't like the way you walk." She slid her hands into her pockets. "Now, how does that sound to all of you? And please feel free to look amused, skeptical or patronizing at this point. I'll have all the more fun wiping the expressions off your faces." Carter Owens, daughter of a Secret Service agent, is trained to disassemble any weapon, any situation, and anyone. Her biting sarcasm and razor-sharp mind make her impossible to beat in a word fight and when talking doesn't work, she uses her fists. She attends Hamilton Prep, Washington D.C.'s most prestigious high school, where everyone is related to someone in power, except her. When Hamilton Prep receives a flood of new students, Carter's role as social outcast changes when she makes two unexpected friends. Friends who are hiding a secret. As Carter uncovers the truth, she confronts challenges she is unequipped to handle and finds herself in a dangerous situation. For a girl trained to see everything, Carter never saw this coming. Xeno yearns to have access to The Nth Dimension like The White Boys, famed telepaths who suffered brain damage when they made contact with extraterrestrial intelligence. Out of work as a bartender since the Shoki Pao dance club mysteriously burned down, Xeno's lackluster lifestyle is getting harder to maintain. The public pill silos that dispense Sunlite, a one-size-fits-all mood elevating drug, haven't been refilled in months, so the citizens of Metropa turn to designer drugs like Black Magic, an addictive knock-off with terrible side effects. Having survived an overdose of Black Magic, and successfully revived by Drinama, a brain implant slipped to him as a Mickey at a job fair, Xeno earns an entry level position as an agent for secret service organization Intellegella. Garry, his handler, introduces Xeno to the industrial version of the black box, allowing Xeno's pineal gland access to synthetic sensory perception with the turn of a dial, along with the Noumenol patch, a skin absorbed drug that stabilizes his vital signs so that he doesn't suffer a cardiac arrest. Xeno's initial mission is to test the black box on the field, under Garry's watchful eye, and to locate Trianne, an ex co-worker, ex model, ex pole dancer for the Shoki Pao, gone missing and showing signs of spontaneous human combustion, an emerging side effect of Black Magic, and a public safety hazard. All he has to do is bring Trianne back to Intellegella for treatment. It's that simple . . . according to Garry.
