I've made many deals in my demon life, ones to grant wealth, ones to grant power, ones to grant love, ones even to grant health, and many more. I have never regretted a deal, until now at least. This deal, no this person, was different. He didn't make the deal for himself, he made the deal for others, and not something cheesy like they fall in love with their crush. No he went to specific people and made all of their sadness go away. I didn't understand it, why didn't he make the deal for himself? Then, he made the wrong person happy. It led to death and destruction, which for a demon that was a fun thing. But not this, this was actually making heaven and hell crumble. But I didn't know that, then.

"How could you do this to me?" I all but shouted. He flinched. "I'm sorry." "You can take your sorry and shove it where the sun doesn't shine for all I care. We are done." I shot back, pointing a trembling finger at him. My whole body vibrated with the need to slap him silly for what he'd done but I didn't want to create more of a scene than I already had. Deciding that he wasn't worth another minute of my time, I shook my head at him and pivoted on my heel, ready to leave. He held my elbow to stop me from going. "I'm sorry. Please don't go. I'd do anything to make it up to you. Anything." The raw pain in his voice stopped me in my tracks. As angry as I was, I wasn't completely immune to his charms. And that's exactly was he was doing. Using sweet nothings to coax me into staying. Looking back on things, I realized it was what he'd always done. But not anymore. Steeling my spine, I wrenched my hand away from him. Without turning around, I said, "If I really was that important to you, you wouldn't have broken my trust as if it were nothing." *** Falling for your best friend's boyfriend is considered a crime. And you'd probably burn in hell for an eternity for it. But what if the best friend isn't all you'd thought she was? What if her boyfriend is so damn charming that you just can't help but fall for him? Is it justified then? No? Read to find out.
