Evan "Buck" Buckley is used to saving lives, but he never thought he'd need someone to save him from the man he loves. Summary: For months, Buck believed he had finally found stability with Tommy. But slowly, the affection turned into control, and the praise into isolation. What started as subtle remarks about his "overbearing" found family at the 118 has evolved into a wall of silence between Buck and the people who know him best. To the world, Buck is just becoming more "private." To his family, he is slipping through their fingers. Trapped in a cycle of manipulation and fear, Buck has learned to hide the bruises and justify the outbursts. However, when a heated argument escalates to a breaking point, the facade finally shatters. Faced with the devastating reality of his situation, Buck must find the strength to reach out for the help he's been trained to give others-before the fire at home consumes him entirely. TW: ➡️ Domestic Violence / Intimate Partner Violence: Physical, emotional and sexual abuse. ➡️ Coercive Control: Manipulation, gaslighting, and isolation from friends and family. ➡️ Physical Injury: Descriptions of bruises, wounds, and physical altercations. ➡️ Psychological Trauma: Depiction of anxiety, fear, and low self-esteem resulting from abuse. ➡️ Isolation: Themes of being forced away from loved ones A/N : This story deals with heavy themes of domestic abuse. I am writing this to explore Buck's resilience and the importance of the 118 family bond. This is purely fictional. If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out to a local helpline. A/N : If you like Tommy's character and/or Buck and Tommy's relationship in the TV show, do not read this story as it depicts a bad/false version of Tommy I have invented

*Warning, this story contains child abuse and neglect, homophobia, minor and brief suicidal ideations* If there is one thing that Buck knows, it's that he's not enough to get people to stay. He's had a family who barely acknowledged he was there and another that just left him behind. A sister who pushed him away, giving him keys to a car and a debit card to an account he had no interest in having. Bobby and Marcy were the only people he could count on. Then he meets Eddie Diaz. But even he broke his heart, leaving in the middle of the night just as they were planning a life together. All he left was a note that held no answers. Buck was once again, not enough. Moving to LA is a fresh start for Buck and for Bobby, things are good. After almost 7 years Buck is finally feeling like he's in a place where he's ready to trust someone again when he meets Abby. And even when she leaves, things still feel good, not perfect but good. Until Bobby introduces the 118's newest recruit. Eddie Diaz.
