[Longlisted at Wattys Award 2018] When I was a child, I used to watch the movie Casper...and my mom cried every time Casper choose not to be human just to save the girl's father. Hindi ko maintindihan kung bakit umiiyak si mommy noon. But when she died and her lawyer gave me her journal, doon ko lang naintindihan ang lalim ng meaning ng movie na Casper para sa kanya. Kasabay noon ang pagkamulat ko sa kung gaano kalawak ang siensya. My mom, she was a scientist and a great scientist by the way. And here I am, fulfilling her dying wish kahit wala pa ako sa kalahati ng talino niya.
