Yamaguchi is trans with a very homophobic mother. Not only is he stressing about his team finding out and kicking him off the boy's volleyball, but his mother is just getting worse in her abuse. El asunto aquí, era que Yamaguchi parecía enamorado de Tsukishima. Y lo sabían todos, absolutamente todos. Incluido el distraído de Hinata, que siempre andaba viviendo en su pequeño mundo de voleibol. También Yachi, que constantemente procuraba no interferir en la vida amorosa de los demás. Y Tobio, al que no podía importarle menos lo que Yamaguchi hiciese con su vida. E incluso lo sabía el mismísimo Tsukishima. En fin, lo sabían todos... menos el mismísimo Yamaguchi, que parecía ajeno a sus propios sentimientos.
