Short story of a special mission, this had a plan to go further with but after finishing the series I had lost a bit of interest from the ending. So this is a short story with a bit of spice. There are a few chapters to introduce the story yes it does follow very close to the beginning, you can skip roughly to the 3rd chapter. I'm going to add some spicy chapters and I will state them as 18+ you will be warned! This was written for my love of the anime midway series and the characters especially. It is from a males perspective, from our little Hiro, who is pretty clueless about 'things' :p

Let's imagine that Klaxasour never exist, children are not solider of war. All of our favourite cast reincarnated into high school student, living their own life without any problem.....or is it? Hiro, a normal generic high school student, you'll probably never notice him in the first place. He thinks that his high school days will go through peacefully with his friends, until a mysterious girl appeared before him, a sudden headache triggered back his memories that shouldn't be remembered. PART OF THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT! So this is a story about a what if. More importantly, what if Hiro and Zero Two survive the show and maybe even have a kid. So as you can guess that reality is based on some technicalities (and one piece of common sense). I'll list those things here and if you want more detail or have questions about them message me or something. TECHNICALITIES 1: Zero Two and Hiro are capable of having a child as it is necessary to pilot a FranXX. 2: The first time they piloted Apus it should have achieved its true form. 3: Once Apus grabbed the Hringhorni the first time, the VIRM should have lost control of it. COMMON SENSE 1: The warp gate should have plopped them out right in the VIRM home world's orbit. Also I rated it mature because there may be lemons (almost definitely) so yeah.

The distant future: Humanity established the mobile fort city, Plantation, upon the ruined wasteland. Within the city were pilot quarters, Mistilteinn, otherwise known as the "Birdcage." That is where the children live... Their only mission in life was the fight. Their enemies are the mysterious giant organisms known as Klaxosaurs. The children operate robots known as FRANXX in order to face these still unseen enemies. Among them was a boy who was once called a child prodigy: Code: 016, Hiro. The world that I grew up in was hell. Pain was the only thing that was normal to me. I had never experienced anything else. However, when I escaped my demise, I learned many new things and feelings.
