I mean, before she ran away, from the constant abuse at the heads of her father and the bullying at her school. As she was on the run, she found hope, all because of the Southside Serpents. Her new family. The Serpent King, at the time, FP Jones, admitted to being a deadbeat dad and even though he missed his son, and his wife and daughter. He couldn't talk to them. He couldn't bear the thought of further rejection, so, Harper tried to help, along the way she realizes, his son, was Jughead Jones. The only person that would talk to her in school.
