Tade laughed freely, unaware of the fact that that was the first time he had done so in a long time. "Okay so," he decided to take his chance, "what do you think about dating a guy on a wheelchair?" Amenze's brown eyes stared back at him through the screen in confusion. "Well, no offence to any handicap, but I don't plan on falling for one." His face fell as his gaze shifted subtly to the wheelchair hidden away from the view of the webcam and back to his laptop screen. "Of course not." He forced a laugh. "Why should you?" ... Tade Bello was on his way to be the youngest and most successful man in Nigeria, that was until a dreadful accident left him ninety percent broke and stuck on a wheelchair. Highest Rank #61 Mum was struggling to breathe, her legs kicking hard as they shuffled on the floor. I pulled on dad's hands which gripped mum's neck but he was quick to nudge me with his shoulder, forcing me to stagger, hitting my head on the wall. Tiny white stars danced before my eyes as quick darkness closes in on me. Mum was gasping. Dad hasn't let go. I staggered up, my eyes clearing off a little as I rushed to dad. Glancing at mum, her pupils were dilating, the white part of her eyeballs slowly taking over completely. Dad's eyes were bloodshot with no emotions whatsoever registered in them. Mum's kicks were slowing down with her hand slowly losing grip. I screamed and bite into dad's hands, chewing as though I was hungry for meat. The metallic taste of blood trickled into my mouth but I didn't let go as I bit harder. All his efforts to push me away were in vain as I kept my gaze on mum, every slow kick she gave urging me to bite in more. Then dad let go. And mum's body slumped. Sprawling on the floor like a bunch of weak leaves. I let go off dad's hand and rushed to her. No pulse. No heartbeat. ****** This emotional fiction gives it's readers an opportunity to peek into the life of a pained woman and her struggles to survive when abandoned by a man she's ever loved. ****** African society has given men so much control over women. No matter what a woman accomplishes in life, once she's not under a man, she's seen as utter useless.... Religion, society and family have subconsciously compelled African women into accepting everything including domestic violence as long as the 'Mrs' title is retained. Many women have lost their lives through physical and emotional abuse. They stay put in abusive relationships cos most are afraid to bear the tag "divorcee", so they rather die than leave. Most African men are proud cheats, with the excuse that "men are polygamous in nature". Sadly, women are the most supporters of this false ideology.

PS. This is a sequel to Preordained, my first book. After a night of excessive drinking, an intoxicated Saheed gets help from a stranger. And for payback, she makes an unusual request. Curious and intrigued, he obliges her. What harm would it cause, pretending to be her boyfriend for two weeks? After all, he is quite the ladies man. Living the lie seems easy at first... Until he begins to believe the lie himself... Or is she just too good at acting? ___ Desperate and afraid of being exposed for lying, Olaedo Matthews convinces the seemingly overconfident and arrogant Saheed Bello to stand in as her man for a fortnight. Surprisingly, he fits into the role easily, coming to her rescue a thousand and one times. Soon she realises they might be more than co-actors who know their scripts very well. But what if they're just too good at acting, at covering their shortcomings with smiles and kisses for the public so people can look at them and ask, "God, when?" And after their two weeks together are over, what next? Highest ranking: No. 30 in #Africa 06/08/2020.

Folk tales and myths serve as a means of handing down traditions and customs from one generation to the next in Africa. For several generations, stories from Africa have traditionally been passed down by word of mouth. Often, after a hard day's work, the adults would gather the children together by moonlight, around a village fire and tell stories. This is traditionally called Tales by Moonlight. Usually the stories are meant to prepare young people for life, and so taught a lesson or moral.

The novel, Daniella, chronicles the odyssey of a teenage orphan who is raised by her grandparents in the village. She has always longed for one thing: to leave her lusterless village to explore new horizons in the city. And when the news comes that she will be moving to Lagos with Aunt Carolina, her joy knows no bounds as she thinks that she is on her way to paradise. What she, however, fails to realize is that the road leading to hell is tarred with ignorance. Amidst Daniella's helluva experience in Lagos, she meets with three teenagers in Damien College who made her stay a little less rueful - or so she thought. With these trio, friendship builds; they also break. Hearts melts; they also wrench. One thing is for sure: lessons are learned. This is a story of self-discovery, perseverance, family relationship, friendship, betrayal, sexuality, child abuse and the drama of high school.
