Ellie is a safe person, she shies away from anything that could be uncomfortable or dangerous in any way. Late night walks? No. Biking on a busy road? No. Making friends? Not likely. Cliff diving? Heck-to-the-no. She'd prefer to remain in her comfort zone, when there's Netflix and snacks; who needs danger when they can watch it on a screen? Alister is the reason Ellie stays safe, although in some aspects she makes his job pretty easy.
