At the age of 23, Alex is the youngest ever Chief Wizard of the Upper City. One day, the Explorers brought back a survivor from the Lower cities, a Potentia with untrained magical power. Alex finds out this Lower citizen seems to know more about their mysterious enemy than any of the Wizards.

Currently taking place in 1991, Miles Kane is a writer from London who moves to California for a new start on his career. Though, there is much more in store for him! Miles meets a naive, shy mermaid named Alexander (Alex). Their slow building relationship becomes more and more close as well as intense throughout the chapters and they become more close than ever.

Alex is finally back home after a long, exhausting tour and he feels like he doesn't deserve Miles by his side but his boyfriend reassures him.
